Opening its 2^nd Largest Wing in Kuching Sarawak, COURTS Committed to Give the Best Shopping Experience

Officiated by Sarawak Domestic Trade and Cost of Living (KPDN) chief enforcement Peter J. Berinus Agang said this while speaking at the opening ceremony of the new Courts outlet at Jalan Matang, Section 65, Hub Batu 4, yesterday.

Also present at the opening ceremony yesterday were Courts Malaysia chief executive officer Harry Higashiura, and Courts Matang outlet manager Mushmahawati Mohd Musleem. Harry who was met at the official opening today said that compared to Peninsular Malaysia, he saw greater potential to open more COURTS branches in Sarawak.

For that reason, he stated that COURTS has began to explore ideal locations as well as study the market potential for new branches such as this Matang branch which was moved from the old location to the latest location.

"The emergence of many large shopping centers has changed the shopping behavior of the public, where they prefer to shop in shopping centers rather than stand-alone stores.”

"That's why for short-term planning within these two years, we plan to move or modify existing branches to remain relevant and follow current market trends," he said, adding that there are 46 COURTS branches in Malaysia.

As for the five-year long-term planning, Harry said that for now there is no announcement yet, but they have a big project that will be implemented and will be announced later.

But what is certain, he said, is that their focus is on information technology (IT) because the IT market in Malaysia is seen to be growing rapidly these days.
